Hindu College
of Engineering, (HCE) was established in 1999
(academic session 1999-2000) with the approval
of the All India Council for Technical Education.
The College is affiliated to the M.D. University,
Rohtak and is managed by the Sonepat Hindu Educational
& Charitable Society, a registered public
body running a chain of 14 educational, technical
and medical institutions at Sonepat, under the
able guidance of Shri. Bhagwan Gupta. |

The College started
with 4 years B.E. (Engineering degree) programme
in disciplines of Electronics & Communication
Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science & Engineering. From the academic
year 2000-2001 the engineering discipline of
Information Technology was also introduced. |

In the beginning
HCE started functioning from the premises of
its sister institution, Hindu Institute of Technology,
which was already running diploma level programmes
in various engineering disciplines. However,
the foundation for an independent building complex
for HCE was laid by Shri O.P. Chautala, Hon’ble
Chief Minister of Haryana on 11th March 2000.
The full fledged 3-stroeyed building including
administration, academic and laboratory blocks
was completed in record time and inaugurated
by Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Union Minister
for Railways on 8th December 2002. |

In a short span
of 7 years Hindu College of Engineering has
already made a mark as one of the top self-financing
engineering colleges of Haryana.
